2012 World Car Awards has awarded a newcomer from Volkswagen the VW Up! as the World Car of the Year for 2012 at the New York International Motor Show. The WCA panel of judges is made up of automotive journalist from across the globe including Paul Gover and Joshua Dowling from Australia. Volkswagen Up! recent victory follows two other WCOTY trophies with VW Polo and VW Golf also scoring the World Car of the Year title back in 2010 and 2009. Porsche 911 has taken the World Performance Car of the Year 2012 whilst recently released Range Rover Evoque has scored World Car Design of the year for 2012. Other top achievement worth mention goes to Mercedes Benz S 250 CDI that has taken the World Green Car of the Year.
