Built for the Chinese market one of Volkswagen oldest running nameplates the Santana is being shown the doors after Volkswagen decision not to continue with its Santana offering after 31 years of service. Based on second generation VW Passat the Santana will be replaced with its successor sometime next year. Volkswagen is yet to advise if the new model will also be given a new name or if it will continue to wear the Santana badge. Such is its popularity that slightly modified version if the original the Santana Vista is still in the production since firstly introduced over a quarter century ago.
