Renault all new Megane build on next generation platform has finally hit our shores. Available in three different body styles, its current offering is represented in a hatch, sedan and convertible form. At the bottom of the list, the entry model Renault Megane Dynamique kicks it off with $22,990 starting price. It includes potent four-cylinder engine producing 105kW of power with 195Nm of torque, returning claimed 8.1L/100km fuel consumption. Available with 6-speed manual transmission as standard whilst optional CVT transmission will add another $2400 to the price. Competitively priced Dynamique variant undercuts its targeted Volkswagen rivalry by $1900. Next in line, Megane Privilege, also powered by the same four-cylinder engine but only available in CVT guise, offered for $29,990 it adds leather upholstery, integrated satellite navigation, sunroof, upgraded audio system, auto-climate control, front parking sensor and 17”alloys to the mix. Last introduction belongs to glorified trophy snatcher RS250 Cup. Powered by four-cylinder 2.0 Litre turbo engine responsible for 184kW/340Nm of power and only offered with 6-speed close ratio manual gearbox it has gone on sale for very reasonable $41,990 or $46,990 for the more luxuriously appointed RS 250 Cup Thropéé. Again, buyers can expect higher equipment levels in RS 250 Cup variant staring with Traction control, 18”or 19”alloys, sport seats (Recaro in Thropéé), LED running lights and special exterior colours to name biggest ticket items. Open-air experience is aided by last but not least, very attractively styled, Megane CC hard top convertible. Moderately priced it offers open top motoring for $45,990. Standard equipment across the range includes VSC, ABS with EBA, dual, side and curtain* airbags, Day time Running lights, rain sensing wipers, auto lights, fog lights, rear parking sensors, Keyless entry and start function, multimedia connection box and cruise control.
