Following rather extraordinary qualifying result from Mercedes AMG Petronas that resulted in Silver Star 1 and 2 finishes with Nico Rosberg grabbing his first pole position since he started in F1 racing back in 2005 followed closely by teammate Michael Schumacher in second Nico managed to defend his position with rather risky 2 stop strategy that also worked for Sebastian Vettel but proved disastrous for Kimi Raikkonen. Michael Schumacher was forced to retired early after his first pit stop with incorrectly fitted front tyre ending his Championship point hopes prematurely. On the other hand Mark Webber 4-stop strategy proved to be effective enough fourth position after overtaking his teammate in the final stages of race. Championship leader Fernando Alonso did manage to stay in the point’s game with 2 point 9th finish.
