Mercedes has a very good reason to celebrate. Its YTD 2010 sales figures recorded 17% spike on a global scale. YTD Global sales figures of 654,400 represented hefty increase of 87,800 more than same time last year. “Our sales figures continue to rise, after a successful first half of the year, the second half has now also begun extremely well with a high growth rate,” says Dr. Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars. China has recorded its biggest monthly growth for the month of July selling 14,600 vehicles or 9,800 more than in July 09 catapulting Mercedes Benz to the top as the fastest growing, most popular luxury brand in China. This positive momentum continued across Asia Pacific where Mercedes Benz recorded exceptional growth across this region.  This was reflected in other parts of the world where record breaking volumes have been welcomed by Mercedes. In US the sales figures were up by 7% selling a total of 17,400 units for the month of July with 121,000 cars sold within the first half of 2010 securing top placement for Mercedes Benz as most popular European luxury cars by choice. Mercedes continued with its record breaking gains across the border shifting over 16,000 vehicles in Canada. However, In Western Europe, except for UK where sales figures were up by 10%, it recorded 3% decline.  On another hand Russia came as surprise as another record breaking candidate. Mercedes was also satisfied with the sales volumes in its homeland almost matching last year figures and still maintaining its market leading position.
Not surprisingly its best selling model line up came from its E-Class and S-Class with the recent introduction of all new E-Class that is probably the best looking model that came out of the Mercedes factory for many years now selling in excess of 300,000 since its introduction. S-Class responsible for shifting 5,500 units in July is also the most appealing large luxury sedan on the market today. Followed closely by its smaller sibling the C-Class, recording 15% rise over the same time last year. YTD over 1,000,000 units delivered to its customers since the introduction of current model. As quoted by Dr. Joachim Schmidt “Our strong product range puts us in a very good position, which is why we can look ahead with optimism. We want sales at Mercedes-Benz to grow at a double-digit rate in full-year 2010.”
