Heavily guarded secret, Lotus is currently developing new concept car that is set to restart its Lotus Esprit era. Combined with rumoured new additions to its line-up, it is set to revitalise its British supercar stronghold on a Global Scale. Its latest creation, still under the wraps, scheduled to debut in this year Paris Motor Show is sure to excite many hopefuls. Lotus is not saying much, apart from hinting that this new concept car, dubbed by many as the new Lotus Espirit, is going to offer far more then what has been previously included, shifting it to more upper class territory. With this new concept, Lotus hopes to reignite its position of building far more then racetrack purpose build vehicle. It is now clear that Lotus is aiming far higher taking its fight into luxury supercar territory including cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini. Under its new management, Lotus believes that recreating mid-engine luxury supercar is crucial for Lotus long-term sustainability helping it to maintain its status as most successful British supercar maker. It is unclear if Lotus will follow its previous engine selection fitting the new Espirit with either supercharged small block V8 or high revving Turbocharged 4. We just hope that yet to be released next generation Espirit will be powered by something outside of Toyota toolbox. Who knows, Lotus might even surprise everybody with BMW twin Turbo V8, if you believe any or all speculation about what is to be expected. Regardless of the outcome, Lotus own website message suggests this will be worthwhile the wait. As claimed by Lotus “Expect the Unexpected”. Moving on, away from this latest Supercar World of craze, Lotus will also be showing off its new improved Evora S at the next Paris Motor Show.
