Lotus recently released lightweight Club Racer version of Elise introduces even lighter version that slices further 26kg from its Elise donor already super low weight. Powered by the same 100kW 4-cylinder Toyota petrol engine as the current entry level Elise, the light weight Club Racer will be stripped of non essential comfort gear in pursue of race only attribute. With its light weight sport seats, stripped out insulation and super light battery this Lotus was well and truly subjected to extreme case of dieting. Furthermore, 2011 Lotus Elise Club Racer will be equipped with DPM or dynamic performance management that promises to provide even more exhilarating experience for less experienced drivers. When released, it will be available in six new exterior colors with Sky Blue, Saffron Yellow, Ardent Red, Aspen White, Matt Black and Carbon Grey with interior matching upholstery. Pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed, although when considering previously introduced examples high 60’s low 70’s is expected. Australian availability is yet to be confirmed.
