Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website Product Safety Recalls Australia has issued a recall affecting 2012 Ford Territory SZ with build date ranging from March 2012 to April 2012 amidst recently surfaced report of possible fault with left-hand C pillar side impact sensor on Ford SZ Territory that controls the deployment of the airbag during a side-impact collision. According to Product Safety Recalls Australia website “the side curtain airbag may not operate correctly, possibly resulting in serious injury to the occupant. ” further stating that ” There is a possibility that a sensor that forms part of the vehicle’s supplemental restraint system may not have been secured” properly. All owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by mail to have their vehicle booked for inspection at the Ford authorised service centres.
