Recently released Ferrari 458 Italia is been placed under scrutiny following recent string of fires believed to be caused by combination of extreme heat generated under extreme driving condition and hot weather where as a results adhesive used to secure engine bay heat shields is now number one suspect taking the blame for igniting the fires. Following series of fires Ferrari has issued a recall of all Ferraris 458 Italia cars produced before July 2010 to have the problem corrected. It is estimated that up to 1200 vehicles could be affected by this recall. It is believed that the adhesive used around engine bay and rear wheel arches to secure the heat shield in its place is responsible for igniting the fires. Ferrari is currently investigating the problem whilst replacing the adhesive with alternative method for securing the heat shields around areas exposed to extreme temperatures.

Reports suggest that up to three cars exposed to such conditions engulfed in flames in different parts of the Globe. It is yet to be confirmed if such recall would apply to any vehicles sold in Australia.

I will take this burned one anytime! Who cares about such small problems, Ferrari is a dream car to own. Feel sorry for the new owners that experienced such misfortune now back on the waiting list for another 2 years before having a chance to own it again
