This time in red, with Honda’s upcoming NSX or as Honda likes to call it Acura NSX (Acura – Honda’s premium products) Hybrid supercar scheduled unveil at Detroit International Motor Show slotted for early next year. Whist still in its concept form, the showroom ready example will according to Honda arrive to Honda’s or Acura’s dealership showroom floors by 2015. As advised before, the all new next generation NSX will also be powered by Honda’s newest Hybrid powertrain consisting of 3.5L VTEC V6 engine with single electric motor sandwiched between the engine and dual-clutch automatic transmission. According to recently released statement by none other than Ferrari’s CEO Luca di Montezemolo Ferrari is working towards early 2013 release of limited edition Enzo Hybrid (otherwise known as F70). Earlier circulated reports suggest the all new Limited Edition Enzo Hybrid will be powered by 600kW 7.3L V12 engine with 90kW electric motor further aided by Ferrari’s KERS (kinetic energy recovery system).

Porsche will no longer be pursuing entry-level roadster amidst recently surfaced reports coming out of German publication Stuttgarter Zeitung that has dropped the bombshell following one on one interview with Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller that stated “We would do no good to the brand if we were to lose traditional Porsche customers” and with that hosing done any hopes of sub-Boxster category. On a positive side Mr. Matthias Muller went on saying that the all new Panamera Junior the Pajun (Pa – stands for Panamera, Jun – stands for Junior) is expected to arrive to Porsche Dealership showrooms by 2017. Subaru Outback Diesel will be offered with automatic transmission from 2013 following the announcement of CVT automatic transmission (Continuously Variable Transmission) that will join the 2013 Subaru Outback line-up from early next year. The new transmission will be mated to recently revised 110kW/350Nm 2.0L Diesel boxer engine that will join the six-speed manual alternative in quest to attract wider range of customers. Subaru is yet to advice on pricing but if the petrol powered range is anything to go by customers could expect to pay around $2,000 premium for the automatic. BMW has unveiled its 3 Series wagon variant that BMW says is more refined and larger than its predecessor.  Most of the extra space is delivered through its cargo area where 2013 next generation BMW 3 Series Sports Wagon offers about 11 percent more volume space. Initial offering in Europe where the all-new 3 Series Sports Wagon will go on sale towards the end of this year will be limited to 320d Touring, 328i and 330d variants with more derivatives to follow later in 2013. 2013 BMW 1 Series Sports Touring will also be offered with four different trim specs to give its new customers higher degree of variation with Sport, Luxury, Modern and M Sport Line variants making the selection. Whilst not first to introduce automatic tailgate function the next generation BMW 1 Series Sports Wagon will also feature foot motion activated tailgate opening. Whilst already confirmed for Europe and U.S., BMW Australia is yet to confirm the official Australian introduction date that we assume will be sometime towards the middle of next year.

Mini has released its latest performance focused replacement for the existing GP variant with the official unveil of all-new Mini Cooper John Copper Works GP that like its predecessor carry’s on with its two-seater only option as part of the John Cooper Works GP weight saving strategy. The GP variant also offers race tuned suspension, performance brake upgrade, body kit, alloys and you guessed it, more powerful four-cylinder turbo engine than the regular John Copper Works edition with estimated 165kW of power. This explains JCW GP fast-paced Nurburgring result of 8 minutes and 23 seconds, almost 20 seconds faster than its predecessor. Limited to 2000 units only, this limited edition will most certainly turn into an instant collector’s item once it is released later in a year. Rumours have it that Australia may also be included on the distribution list.

BMW has introduced yet another variant to its popular 1 Series line-up following the official unveil of BMW 1 Series three-door hatchback in Europe today that will also include a performance oriented M135i extension. Essentially a shortened version of the already introduced next-generation 3 Series  five-door hatchback the all new 3-door variant will be offered with the same engine and transmission selection as its bigger brother with either four of five seater option. The M135i will be offered with single 3.0L straight six engine option with manual or auto transmissions, sports tuned suspension and brakes, bigger alloys and some cosmetic exterior and interior upgrades. Unfortunately BMW has no plans to introduce its latest 1 Series addition anywhere outside of Europe. Stay tuned for more information on BMW 1 Series three-door hatchback.

Yes, you heard it right, Mercedes-Benz is introducing its most affordable E-Class variant yet with the release of all new Mercedes-Benz E200 BlueEffciency variant that will leave its showroom floors for less the A$80,000 (plus onroads). The new entry model E-Class will be powered by quite punchy 1.8L four-cylinder turbo engine capable of producing 135kW of power with very reasonable 270Nm of torque with six-cylinder like acceleration figure that will push the all new E200 BlueEffciency to 100km/h in less than 8.0s. The new entry model variant is a direct response to recently observed shift in the marketplace for more economical alternatives matched with exceptional performance that already produced quite capable alternatives such BMW 520 or Audi A6 2.0 TFSI. The all new Mercedes-Benz E200 BlueEfficiency will be offered with 7G-Tronic auto transmission as standard.

According to latest reports, BMW soon to be introduced 1 Series coupe and convertible replacement with all new next generation models is likely to bear 2 Series emblem as part of BMW move to separate the more expensive coupe and convertible variants from the entry level Series 1 hatchback. Whilst not much else has been reported, it’s expected that all new 2 series line-up will most probably be offered with the same engine and transmission options as the 1 series model but with optional eight-speed auto transmission. All new 2 series is due to be released in 2014.

Unfortunately for the European market only as currently Volkswagen has no plans to introduce its CrossPolo variant in Australia. Prices just under 19,000 Euros the CrossPolo Urban White Limited Edition will offer its European customers white pearlescent exterior with gloss black mirrors and 17″ alloys. Interior upgrades consist of Alcantara featured sport seats with silver contrast stitching on the leather wrapped steering wheel and handbrake lever. Black and white door trim, black headliner, chrome trim and silver coloured centre stack surround completes “the elegant look of new model”.
