When it comes to unique styling Citroen brand almost immediately rises to the top regardless of which category. Citroen C6 is no exception. At first glance its shear presence suggests this is no ordinary European sedan. In fact it’s probably the only European vehicle without the lengthy option list as most of the luxury ticket items have been included in this vehicle. Not sure what category C6 should be placed in as the unique styling compromises between luxury sedan and sports coupe. Distinctively long nose section with imposing headlights and grille with double lined chevrons, sloped roofline, frameless doors, 18” alloys and speed controlled pop up rear spoiler add to the overall appeal that is sure to grab attention. And unlike similarly styled coupe/sedans its roofline is extended all the way to the rear of the car providing slightly more rear headroom. Interior design is very stylish and elegant with superior built quality. It will comfortably accommodate 4 adults providing quite reasonable amount of space with level of comfort like no other. Dashboard design is probably the weakest point of this otherwise excellent European example. Instrument cluster could have benefited with additional dials as it looks rather plain but with added feature of Head Up display it does the job quite well. Centre console is fitted dual zone climate control and Satellite navigation incorporating mobile phone and entertainment unit controls. Citroen C6 is offered with either petrol or diesel V6 engines. 2.7 litre HDi twin turbo Diesel V6 engine is capable of 150kW and 440Nm whilst super smooth 3.0 litre petrol alternative is slightly up on power with 155kW but down on torque at 295Nm. Both variants use 6 speed auto adaptive transmissions responsible for delivering super smooth gear changes. Unique to Citroen C6 front suspension set up is the independent dual wishbones design separating damping and steering functions resulting in improved handling and cornering of the vehicle. Dependable on road conditions its electronically controlled suspension height is consistently modified to improve the overall handling of the vehicle. Citroen C5 is also fitted with hydraulic speed sensitive steering and ESP with traction control. Safety wise the C6 is fitted with dual front, side and curtain airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners with force limiter, Active head restraints, Active bonnet system designed for improved pedestrian protection, lane departure warning, Xenon adaptive headlights, ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and emergency braking assistance (EBA). Citroen C6 has been designed to compete with premium German luxury vehicles. Despite its high price tag it represents great value based on high level of refinement, creative design, innovation and equipment levels.
