BMW has already introduced its i8 Hybrid supercar that combines battery powered electric motor with high output three-cylinder turbo petrol to produce 265kW of power distributed across its all fours and now BMW has released i8 Spyder Concept version that apart from losing the rear seats and being slightly smaller than the i8 Hybrid utilises the same 265kW propulsion system as the hardtop version that BMW says is capable to run on electricity alone with up to 30km electric only range. The best part its claimed fuel consumption that BMW says it’s only marginally higher than the hard top version with 3.1L/100km. BMW i8 Spyder is also slightly slower than the hardtop version but still delivering supercar worthy 5.0 seconds 0-100km/h or 0.2 seconds slower than the i8 Hybrid.
