This would otherwise been just like any other story if it wasn’t for the four-wheel-drive re-introduction to famous Le Mans racing or at least partial reintroduction following the approval of new technology that allows for stored regenerative breaking energy release during the race. This is what has been dug out; up to “500KJ of stored energy to be transferred to the wheels between two breaking events at speed above 120km/h.” It wasn’t too long before Audi responded following the release of Audi R18 e-tron Quattro, the latter corresponding with Audi’s decision to apply this new rule in its latest Le Mans racer the R18 e-tron Quattro regenerative braking system that channels the energy to its front wheels and thus explaining the Quattro reference and recent U-Tube R18 e-tron Quattro release.
